CASE
HISTORY
With a population of just under 75,000 Sault Ste. Marie
is large enough to offer the amenities of a mid-sized city but still small enough
to be personable. You can commute from the cottage into work in under an hour and
‘rush hour’ is an unknown reference of time.
The Sault, as it is referred to by
locals is steeped in history. It’s geographical location has long made it a vital
hub for transportation and commerce. For you, it means accessibility: |
 |
* located at the junction of the Great Lakes (between Lakes Superior and Huron)
* the most westerly port of call on the St. Lawrence Seaway system
* shares the border with Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (population approx. 16,000)
which is accessible via an international bridge
* just over an hour’s flight to major southern Ontario cities
|
|
The Sault and surrounding area boasts cultural, recreational and sports attractions
ranging from Arts to Zoos. Beaches, provincial parks, ski slopes, snowmobile trails
and hiking trails are plentiful and most within an hour’s drive. The diversity of
the Algoma landscape is evident with low, slightly rolling terrain eastward and
rugged shorelines and rock outcrops north of the city. It’s no surprise that our
local slogan is “Naturally Gifted.” |
