Family physicians are needed in Sault Ste. Marie.  An overview of the family medicine services provided in the community is detailed below:

• Practice can be tailored to particular interests without mandatory performance of those things one finds onerous.
• Opportunities for both group and solo practice.
• Emergency work can be combined with your practice (8 hour shifts), but it is not a requirement.
• Practice can be limited to emergency room shifts only.
• Practice opportunity in hospitalist program.
• High quality CME is available through weekly and monthly rounds and regular conferences (approved for CCFP MainPro Credits).
• Backup is available by an extensive array of specialists.
• C.T. Scan, MRI and a full Radiology Department are adjacent to the Emergency Department. Nuclear Medicine is located in an adjacent building (Plummer site).
• Good on-call structure (1 in 13 to 1 in 25) allows ample opportunity to enjoy the beautiful city and surrounding area.

Teaching opportunities: Affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) provides the opportunity to teach residents and medical students.
